Some Bits About Us

A group of 5 people (TeamProject5) trying to find out how courteous Malaysian people are and can really be. This road trip will be our pilot project. Our plan is to go for a 6-day road trip around Peninsular Malaysia (except Kedah & Perlis) with a very “tiny” budget. And during the trip, we'll try to jot down all the experiences that we may come across throughout the road trip in this blog.

We are not going to sleep in hotels or other paid accommodations (if we have to, it might not reach RM30 per head). Instead, we'll try to find the resources from other people's contributions. We'll be driving throughout this whole journey… Not using highways, of course. For our meals, we'll just go and eat at the VERY cheap2 places. We had planned to bring together some cooking utensils and will be cooking throughout the journey, but due to the space constraints, we have to let the plan go.

So, what do we need? We do have a budget for this trip, but as stated, it will be very tiny. Therefore, maybe you can help by contributing to us. You can contribute to us by giving ideas and tips, recommending or providing places where we can set up tent to overnight, boat/ferry transfers and many other things. Even small items like torchlight, mosquito repellent, travel chargers are also welcome. We accept any contributions that are deemed necessary for this project.

Loans of items are also welcomed. Maybe you want to loan us your GPS navigator (if you really that courteous!), sleeping bags, sleeping mats or any other items. We'll construct a simple agreement for the loan of those items (if the item is valued below RM100). If the items are worth more than RM100, the loan agreement will have extra details and will be sent for stamping.

Our Journey

As for now, roughly,
we'll be going to Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lata Iskandar,) Johore (Kluang/Batu Pahat/Muar, Gunung Belumut, Rengit, Tangkak/Segamat) Melaka, Negeri Sembilan (Port Dickson/Tanjung Tuan), Perak (Ipoh, Pulau Pangkor), Pulau Pinang (War Museum) and head back to KL.

But the above places are yet to be confirmed. As there will be few changes, the locations may be different from what we have stated here. We'll update the plan and let you know through this blog.

We might be adding few other places, depending on what we see along the journey, but basically, the above places are a-must-go location. What else can we find there? You can tell us.

If you would like to contribute anything or give ideas, you may do so by contacting us or write a comment below.

Malaysians are Courteous, let’s prove it!!

Take a walk to the lighthouse at Tanjung Tuan near Port Dickson - you can go straight up the very steep road, or follow the very nice forest trail. Just on the other side of the lighthouse is a very steep track down to the prettiest (very secluded) beach around Port Dickson.

Park at the Ilham resort - the restaurant there is lovely too, and you'll be hungry after all the walking!
